Welcome to the Web pages of the Transnational Crime and Criminal Justice Project.
Based
at the Jakarta Centre for Law Enforcement Cooperation (JCLEC) in Semarang, Indonesia,
the Project is a joint venture involving the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime
(UNODC), the Kemitraan partnership of Indonesia, the National Policing Improvement
Agency of the UK (NPIA) and the Charles Sturt University of Australia.
The aim of
the Project, which is funded by the European Union is to deliver:
* Enhanced capacity
of senior law enforcement personnel to investigate transnational crime, supervise
investigations, engage in information sharing and agency coordination, and improve
staff professional conduct; Improved capacity of trainers from JCLEC and the target
agencies to deliver training;
* A pool of high quality local trainers available for deployment at JCLEC and/or the target agencies;
* A long term training strategy for JCLEC that is integrated with police training priorities;
* Cooperative exchanges between JCLEC and European and Asian training institutes;
* The establishment of a long term real life simulation based training facility.
